Dr. Terry Louise Key's Obituary
Dr. Terry L. Key was born March 27, 1955 in Miami, Florida to the late Wallace Jacob Key and Minnie Caldwell Key. She was the 4th of 6 children born to this union. Terry graduated from South Dade High School in Homestead, Florida in 1973. She graduated from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1977. Dr. Key received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Texas in Austin in 1997. Terry accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Covenant Missionary Baptist Church in Florida City, FL where she was a member for many years. Dr. Key moved to Dallas, Texas in 1978 where she worked for LTV Aerospace and Defense as a Senior Cost Analyst until 1993. After a successful career as a business professional Terry decided to make a career change and decided to pursue her love of Science. In 1997 she earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree and began a rewarding career as a Pharmacist at Parkland Hospital. She was a dedicated employee at Parkland Hospital until her death. Terry was a member of the Zeta Phi Beta sorority. She volunteered with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America youth organization as a Big Sister, where she mentored young girls to help them reach their potential. Terry became a member of Northeast Bible Church in 2006. She rededicated her life to Christ and was re-baptized in 2006. Terry was a devoted member of the choir and served as a Growth Group leader. Terry had a kind spirit and was always willing to help anyone in any way she could. She was a very considerate, compassionate and righteous person. You could count on Terry to follow through. Terry loved cats and adored her precious Jasmine and Linus. She spent her leisure time decorating, working in the garden, and baking. Terry was a loving sister and aunt. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: Sisters Debra Key Campbell and Karen Key Dunlap (brother-in-law Maurice), Brothers Wallace Jacob Key, Jr. (sister-in-law Betty), Kenneth Key (sister-in-law Sharon), and Ronnie (sister-in-law Shirley) and brother-in-law Thester Campbell. Terry adored and was adored by her ten nieces and nephews: Carla, Cinnamon, Jarryd, Jeremy, Tia, Jeffrey, Jordan, Sophia, Taylor and Zachary. She was affectionately known to them as Nana. She also leaves to mourn her passing several aunts and uncles, and other family members and friends.
