Thomas Sieling's Obituary
Thomas Truitt Sieling went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 22, 2008 at the age of 81. Tom was born in Omaha, Nebraska on 9/8/27, but grew up in Highland Park, TX. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1944 where he lettered in swimming. The only son of Art and Gert Sieling, Tom attended The University of Texas in Austin where he received his BBA in 1948. It was in Austin that he met the love of his life, Joan Sessions, and they were married on 6/11/49. Tom worked within the banking industry for over 40 years with the majority of that time with a single employer; Mercantile National Bank of Dallas and its successors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman until recent years. Tom was a founding member of the Highland Hunting and Fishing Club where he formed many life long friendships. He gained much joy in introducing others to outdoor sports including his children and grandchildren. Tom and Joan had been married for 48 years at the time of Joan’s death in 1997. We are all saddened by his death, but have much comfort knowing that Tom is with his heavenly Father for eternity. He is survived by his eight children: John Thomas Sieling and wife Brenda of Calvert, TX, William Arthur Sieling and wife Cathy of Coppell, TX, David Richard Sieling and wife Linda of Rowlett, TX, Rebecca Ann Mervicker of Houston, TX, Donna Marie Roach and husband David of Phoenix, AZ, Pamela Jean Sieling of Dallas, TX, Richard Douglas Sieling and wife Jackie of London, UK and Stephen Edward Sieling and wife Dana of Highland Park, TX.
