Thomas Hiram Young Jr's Obituary
Tommy Young, 71, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, May 10, 2020.
Tommy was born March 14, 1949 in Fort Worth, Texas to parents Thomas and Hester Young. He spent his youth in the Meadowbrook area of Fort Worth, where his dad Tom Young Sr. was the principal of Meadowbrook Elementary School. He received his gift of music from his mother Hester Young, who also taught many of his classmates piano and voice.
He graduated from Texas Christian University in 1972, where he met his beautiful wife Christy. They married at TCU Robert Carr Chapel in 1972 and moved to Dallas while he pursued his musical career playing the Hammond B-3 organ. He made many lasting friendships during the years he worked at Arnold Morgan Music Company and went on to start two successful companies as he grew his family in Garland, Texas. Over the years he was blessed to share the stage with some of the best musicians who have graced this earth and was privileged to play throughout the world. Everyone who knew Tommy had a true appreciation for his musical genius and his quick wit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Hester Young.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Christy Young; son Trey Young and his wife Sarah of Fort Worth, Texas; his daughter Kirby Cord of Dallas, Texas; his grandchildren, Thomas and Peter Young and Archie Cord; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
