Mrs. Thu Lan Nguyen was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and oldest sister in the family. She peacefully passed away in Garland, Texas on February 25, 2023, at the age of 89, after a short time fight with her disease, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Despite the pain, she remained optimistic and continue to care for her family members until the end.
Thu Nguyen was born on April 18, 1935 in Duc Hoa, Long An, Vietnam. She was born in the traditional family that emphasized family and the teachings of Buddhism. She came to the United States in 1994. She was the second of nine children of the Nguyen family. Thu Nguyen loved growing up with her large family and helping on the farm. As a devout Buddhist, she was born in the traditionally Buddhism family who care seriously for the Buddhism, family and people around.
Mrs. Thu Lan Nguyen is survived by her four daughters, Thucuc Pham, Thuvan Pham, Thuthuy Pham and Thudung Pham; son-in-law; seven sisters; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Thu Nguyen was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She doted on her family and was happiest when her large brood surrounded her. She hosted large Sunday lunch almost every month where her family feasted on fried chicken or roasted pork.
Mrs. Nguyen loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family and preferred spending time in the garden or caring for the children. Children would gather around the kitchen table for cookies and loved listening to Mrs. Nguyen’s stories about her fairy tales or legends.
Mrs. Thu Lan Nguyen will be honored at Restland Funeral Home at 13005 Greenville Ave. Dallas, Texas on March 14, 2023. Visiting hours are from 12:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with a ceremony.
A Funeral Service is scheduled on Wed 03/15/2023 at 11:00 A.M.
