Tracy Michelle Johnston's Obituary
Tracy Michelle Johnston of Dallas, TX passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at her home. Tracy was born in Eureka, CA on November 13, 1966 to Richard and Sharon Coe. Tracy lost her father at the age of 2 to a car accident. Tracy was a young mother at the age of 17 when she had her first child Kathryn Amber Channell. A year and half later she had her youngest daughter Rebecca Channell Kilpatrick. Tracy struggled with drug abuse most of her young adult life before making a decision to leave her children to be raised by her mother so that she could deal with her addiction. She promised her young daughters that once she got settled in and found her way in Dallas she would send for them and raise them. Tracy told her two young children “give me one year and we will be a family again.” Tracy moved to Dallas from Sacramento in 1995 and found the Lord Jesus Christ and was born again. Tracy kept her promise and sent for her children to come in live with her and start a new life in Dallas. Tracy was clean and sober for 20 years and a devout Christian. She loved to collect crosses and hung them proudly on her “cross wall” as she called it. Tracy would often give her testimony to anyone who would listen in hopes that they could learn from her and seek the Lord for comfort and strength. Tracy drove taxi as her profession for several years and loved being an independent business woman and provided for her young family. In 1999 she decided to stop driving taxi because it was becoming too dangerous and decided to try customer service and began working at Lennox Industries in Richardson, TX. It is Lennox where she found her best friend and husband Michael. They were married December 4, 2004 and shared 10 happy years together. One of the most important and inspiring events of her life occurred on September 10, 2013 when her grandson Ryker was born. Tracy adored and cherished this child and even moved closer to her children so she would have the opportunity to see him every day. Tracy is survived by her loving husband Michael of Richardson, TX, daughters Kathryn Amber Channell of Dallas, Rebecca Channell Kilpatrick, her grandson Ryker Channell also of Dallas, her mother Sharon Holland, step-father Jim Holland of Citrus Heights, CA, older brother Rick Coe of Rocklin, CA older sister Lindy Bridges of Sacramento, CA, and younger sister Kristy Holland of Citrus Heights, CA.
