Valerie Ann Pike's Obituary
Valerie Ann Briggs Pike went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 10, 2020. Valerie was born October 23, 1946 in Dallas, Texas. She loved and was loved greatly. She was beautiful both inside and out, gifted with grace and a sweet, kind soul. She was the best sister you could ever ask for, the kindest person you could ever hope to meet and a wonderful loving mother and grandmother. She loved her grandchildren, who were the stars in her eyes. She also loved her nieces and nephews who were a delight to her. All of the children brought her joy. Valerie also loved her dogs and horses and enjoyed trail riding with her friends. Valerie loved flowers, gardening and taking trips with her family. She was an accomplished hostess and cooked hundreds of delicious meals for her family and friends.
Valerie was raised in Dallas, Texas and attended Duncanville School District, graduating in 1964. Upon graduating Duncanville High School, she undertook studies at Arlington State College, later becoming the University of Texas at Arlington. She made many lovely friends along the way and was very active in Epsilon Sigma Alpha, a service organization.
Valerie was a valued employee and had a successful business career working as the Executive Assistant to the Vice Presidents of Bell Helicopter, at Trane Air Conditioning, and later served as a Vice President for Heritage Savings & Loan. She ended her career in the title insurance industry with Old Republic Title.
Valerie was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothea Lou and Joseph C. Briggs, Jr. She is survived by her oldest son Robert Bryan Pike, wife Michelle, their two precious children Ireland McKenzie Pike and Baylor Cole Pike, youngest son Bradley Curtis Pike, sister Lezlie Lynn Briggs, brother Joseph Carl Briggs III and wife Jolynn and their children (Jay) Joseph C. Briggs IV, Jennifer Lou Briggs Rickard, husband Scott Rickard and children Ryan and Collin. Valerie is also survived by many loving cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Restland Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Restland Memorial Chapel, located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243.
