Venita Ann McElyea's Obituary
Venita ‘Nita’ McElyea passed away early morning, on Sunday, August 20th, 2023 in Arizona. Nita was born October 31st, 1954 in Pilot Point Texas.
Nita was the proud mother of two daughters; Melissa McElyea of Garland Texas and Tiffany Lewis of The Colony Texas. Two grandchildren; Trista McElyea and Clinton McElyea. One great grandchild; Aislynn.
Nita was preceded in death by her father; Clinton Lucky, mother; Vera Ridings, birth mother; Theda ‘Joyce’ Labinski.
Nita worked in the medical field for over 20 years as receptionist and then as a credentialing officer. Nita was an active member at Richland Baptist Church for several years volunteering countless hours to VBS, helping with the children’s performances and singing in the choir. Nita was an outstanding hostess, party planner, florist, cook, carpenter, and creator. Her creative talents were unmatched. There was nothing she could not make or create and was happy to pass those traits on to both of her daughters. In her later years, Nita enjoyed her online shopping, going out to eat and being able to travel with her sister Laura McDanel and brothers Steven and Gary Yocum of Phoenix Arizona. Nita will be missed but always remembered.
