Violet P. Wells' Obituary
Violet P. Wells passed away on October 6,2014. She was born on March 19, 1921 in the island “city” of Sabula, Iowa. Despite many challenging years of living with chronic pain, she never lost her kind, loving and generous spirit. Violet and Lawrance were married on April 16, 1940. After a lifetime of living in the mid-west, Dallas became their beloved hometown in the 1960’s.To enable Lawrance to pursue his entrepreneurial dream, Violet worked in an accounting department and in retail sales. For most of her life, however, she delighted in being a homemaker. Coming from Danish background, she was especially proud of her baking skills. Her cookies and pies were coveted by all. Foremost, Violet’s devotion to family and friends was unwavering, and she lived her life with courage and grace. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucia and John Petersen; husband, Lawrance; sons, Lawrance, Jr. and Edward;and sisters, Gertrude and Gladys. Survivors left to cherish her memory include daughter, Judy Shepard, and son and wife, Loren and Mary Wells. Also, grandchildren, Debra Garren; Cynthia Keller; Danielle, Mark and Richard Wells and great-¬grandchiidren,Christy, Jennifer, and Stacy Garren; Bryce and Chase Keller as well as beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom will be guided by her values and principles. A Service to honor Violet’s life will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Preston Hollow United Methodist Church, reception to follow. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75238. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Preston Hollow UMC, 6315 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, Texas 75230 or to a charity of your choice.
