Virginia B. Doersam's Obituary
Doersam, Virginia B. was born January 14, 1918 in Frankfort, Indiana. She was the daughter of Dr. Orla Biery and Ethel Biery. Virginia graduated majoring in History with a minor in English from Indiana University, Bloomington in 1940. She served as a key punch operator at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas during WWII.
Virginia met and married Walter J. Doersam in 1949 both working for IBM in Indianapolis. She is survived by her three children, Judy Cook (Jerry) of Highland Village, Texas, Jane Harrington (Martin) of Franklin, Tn. and Jim Doersam (Diane) of Georgetown, Tx. – 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Virginia was a substitute teacher in the Richardson School District and was an administrative assistant for 14 years at Northwood Junior High. In her retirement years, she and her husband enjoyed many years of extensive travelling throughout the US and Europe.
The family will have a private graveside service on Saturday, Restland Funeral Home, Dallas.
