Virginia Frances Ransom's Obituary
Virginia Ransom, 93 years old, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in the Vitas Hospice unit at Baylor Hospital in Carrollton. She was born September 6, 1923 in Rockland, Maine. She graduated from Rockland High School Class of 1942. She joined the Army women’s Corp in 1944. She was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. While she was there she met her husband, Billy Ransom who was in the Navy. They were married for 71 years. Billy died April 20, 2017. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Barlow and Alida Barlow-Darling; her sister, Grace Gildred; two brothers, Albert Barlow, and Harold Darling Jr. She is survived by her nieces, Dianne Postupack, Nathalie Witham of Owls Head, Maine, Barbara Ballard, and Linda Powell-Jackson and nephews, Albert Barlow Jr., Dennis Darling and Ronnie Jean Ransom. She will be sadly missed by her great nephews and nieces, David Postupack and wife, Wendy, Daniel Postupack, Amy Polky and husband, Jeff, Ann Dorr and husband, Rene. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
