Virginia Young's Obituary
Virginia Lee Helfrich Young of Dallas, Texas passed away on May 8, 2024, at the age of 92. She was the first of 6 children born to William Helfrich and Stella Wolfe.
Virginia was born in Verona Pennsylvania where she grew up, married Ralph Oliver Young and had 4 daughters. Virginia and her husband “Ollie” moved the family to Dallas in 1970.
Virginia was always very active in her family and church life. She started playing the organ in church at the age of 16, and with her girls was active with Girl Scouts, choir, church camps, vacation bible school, and many other church activities. Virginia volunteered at Christian Care Center, playing the piano for residents for many years, up until a month before her passing.
Virginia was a devoted Christian and spent most of her life in Bible study groups and spreading God’s word in her actions and generosity with others, friends or strangers alike.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Holly, sister Mary and brother Harry.
Left to cherish memories of her are daughters Gail, Betty (Laura) and Bobbi, as well as 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, sisters Thelma and Barbara, brother John and numerous friends at Crossroads Bible Church.
Virginia will be dearly missed but we are so happy for her to be with our Lord and will meet her there one day!
Memorial service for Virginia will be on her birthday, July 20, 2024 at 1:00 at Crossroads Bible Church in Talty Texas. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Crossroads Bible Church, 9664 County Road 213, Talty, Tx 75126
