William O "Bodie" Jones Jr.'s Obituary
William O "Bodie" Jones Jr., 66, of Terrell, Texas, passed away on June 5, 2024. Born on July 26, 1957, in Grapevine, TX, Bodie was a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Growing up in Mesquite, TX, the nickname "Bodie" was given to him by his “Papi” and stuck with him throughout his life.
Bodie was known for his hard work, caring nature, and sense of fun. He loved deep conversations with people and never met a stranger. He was intuitive and sincere with those he interacted with. He loved to laugh, but was quick to cry with sensitivity to anyone hurting.
He cherished his family, often boasting about his children and grandchildren.
They were his pride and joy! His home was filled with memorabilia from each of their births, pictures and special occasions. He was so proud of his kids, their spouses and his grandchildren. He often showed love and affection through his big famous hugs and smile.
Bodie had a deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and at the age of 40, he was baptized and born again. He passionately dedicated his life to following Christ. He was zealous about studying the Word of God and sharing his testimony with others.
Bodie was a natural leader who excelled in his career as a store manager, top salesman, and successful business owner in the Window Cleaning and Pressure Washing industry. He valued his relationships with customers, many of whom became like family.
In his free time, Bodie enjoyed grilling, cooking for his loved ones, family gatherings, golfing, swimming, fishing, riding motorcycles, boating, and jet skiing.
He loved sports and in past days could be found arm-chair quarterbacking while shouting at the TV.
From collecting various types of music, writing songs and poem, he was an avid fan of music and had an ear for it. While having a beautiful singing voice, you would often hear him whistling and singing while he worked on the job or around his house. Usually he’d repeat 1-2 lines of the same song for days and days. Also, having taught Sunday school for many years, he became a skilled teacher and communicator.
Bodie is survived by his son Cheyenne "Bodie" Jones and wife Stephanie, daughter Chelsie Weems and husband Ben, son Ryan Jones and wife Emily, his grandchildren Kenleigh Jones, Skylin Weems, Londyn Weems, Logan Weems, Landry Jones, and Lincoln Jones, as well as his sister Susan Pool and her husband Mike. He also leaves his mark on the hearts of many people including nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, friends and church family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Bill" Jones and Mary Jo Jones.
He left behind his dear companion and cat. Zoë.
His memory will be honored and cherished and he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
