William M. Nix's Obituary
On November 18, 2010, William M. (Buddy) Nix, Jr. went to be with the Lord at his home in Richardson, TX. He was born on November 29, 1927 in Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Goldie Nix. He graduated from Adamson High School and enlisted in the US Army. He was honorably discharged and was employed by Dallas Power and Light for many years until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed coaching all aspects of baseball from Little League through amateur baseball for over 40 years. He lived his life through baseball and we were so pleased that he was finally able to see his Rangers in the World Series. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Bettye, whom he loved with all his heart. Also surviving are his children David (Candy) from Atlanta, GA, Bubba (Michelle) from Lubbock, TX, Jan from Flower Mound, TX, and Jill (Brian) from Richardson, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren Catherine Benedict, Brian Benedict, Tiffany Snyder, Cole Nix, Tye Nix, Chelsea Reynolds, Caylea Reynolds, Ashley Kelly, Lance McGinnis, and Emily McGinnis and great-grandchildren Holden and Kaison. He will be greatly missed by all of those who love him…and as Pop always said…”except for Grandma, she took typing”.
