William Glenhelm Robinson, Jr.'s Obituary
William Glenhelm “Jack” Robinson, beloved husband, father, brother, coach and friend, passed away on Veterans Day November 11, 2019. Jack was born in Dallas, Texas on June 11, 1936 to William and Myrtye Jim (Gandy) Robinson. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School from 1951-1954, the University of Texas at Austin and Southern Methodist University where he earned a BA in Business and Insurance in 1958. Jack served in the Air Force from 1958-1963 as a navigator with the 55th Strategic Air Command and achieved the rank of Captain. In 1963, Jack and his flight crew were awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. Shortly after returning home, he met his sweetheart, Diane Dannelly, and married in 1964. They celebrated their 55th anniversary on May 2nd, 2019.Jack began his 56 year career in the insurance business with Safeco Insurance in 1963. He then joined and later acquired the J.W. Lindsley Insurance Agency in 1968. Following various acquisitions, the firm became known as Robinson Agencies, Inc. before combining with Insurance One Agency in 1998. Jack loved all sports and was an avid golfer with an incredible accomplishment of having six holes-in-one. Jack was a life long member of 3rd Church of Christ, Scientist in Dallas where he regularly taught Sunday school. He also served as a volunteer chaplain for over four decades in the Dallas County prison systems. Over his lifetime, he was a member of numerous organizations including, most recently, the Dallas Council of the Navy League.Jack is survived by his wife Diane Dannelly Robinson, sons Stuart Dannelly Robinson and Mark Glenhelm Robinson, daughter-in-law Janell Kubenka Robinson, sister Mary Eugenia Robinson, grandchildren Reagan Dannelly Robinson and Connor Jack Robinson, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Susan Dannelly Cox and John Yeldell Cox, nieces Leslie Cox Fitzgerald and Lauren Elizabeth Cox and numerous cousins.A burial service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 1:00PM at the DFW National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX). There will also be a memorial service on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 11:00AM at Third Church of Christ, Scientist (4419 Oak Lawn Ave, Dallas, TX)
