William Rutledge's Obituary
William Rutledge was born on February 16, 1921 in Fort Worth, Texas and passed away on November 4, 2016 in Hoquiam, Washington. Preceded in death by his mother, Della Ophelia and father, Thomas Edward; his wife, Josephine; brothers, Taylor, Maxey, Earl, Joe and sister, Gertrude. Survived by his sons, Thomas Edward (Colleen), Stephen John (Nan), daughter, Martha Jo Drillette (Steve); eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Bill was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and SMU. He served in the Navy during WW II and survived the sinking of his ship the Block Island. Bill met Josephine at a USO dance. They married July 4, 1944. Family will receive friends Monday, November 14, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. Service will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 10:00 AM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grays Harbor Home Health and Hospice, 201 Seventh Street, Hoquiam, Washington 98550.
