Mr. William Sherwood Wilkinson's Obituary
WILKINSON, WILLIAM S. (BILL), 3rd generation Dallas native, passed away January 25, 2007, after a lengthy illness. Bill attended Stonewall Jackson, Woodrow Wilson High, and University of North Texas. He also served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. Bill was employed with Employers Casualty Insurance, Gulf Insurance, Federated Insurance of Dallas, founded and was vice president of Ebby Halliday Insurance, and started Bill Wilkinson Insurance in 1994. He was a member of numerous realty and investment organizations in Dallas and Houston. Bill enjoyed gourmet cooking, fishing, hunting and golfing. He was known for his quick wit and for preparing great meals for family and friends.Preceded in death by his parents, Jewel O. & William S. Wilkinson; brother, Robert Wilkinson. Survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Robert Latham Wilkinson, William S. Wilkinson, Jr. & wife Lynne, Melinda Contaldi, and Melissa Parr & husband, Michael; precious grandchildren, Chris Gaiser & wife Nicole, Taylor Parr, Madelyn, Kathryn, & Caroline Wilkinson; other family, Carol & J.L. Mayfield, Craig & Monica Bobo & Abby, Colleen & Steve McLeery; caring and loving friends, David Newton and Judy Green, for love and support, Martha, Jill, Sheila, Barbara, Sara, Carolyn, Marilyn, Laura, Tara, Co, Claudia, Mildred, Kevin & Grace; special friend and caregiver, LaWana Harris. Special thanks for his care and concern to Dr. Jeb Miers and Dr. James Strauss. Family services will be held Monday, January 29th with Chaplain Ariail Gores officiating.
