Helen Holland was born Helen Mary Trzaska in New York City on October 25, 1933. She passed away peacefully on January 16, 2022. She was born to parents Stanley and Mary Trzaska of Garden City Park, New York. Helen was preceeded in death by her parents, her sister, Sophie, her husband, Wayne German (Korean War Air Force Veteran), and her husband, Homer Holland (WWII Navy Veteran). She is survived by her sons, Gary German, of Mt. Shasta, CA, and Jim German and his wife, Liz, of Allen, TX. She is also survived by her step daughter, Joy Holland, of Denton, TX and step grand daughter, Brandi Dittoe, of Wylie, TX. Helen is also survived by her grandchildren, Gloria Shoenfeldt and husband Alex, of Berkeley, CA, Gregory German, of Seattle, WA, Jason Pratt and wife, Keetra, of Plano, TX, and Tyler German and wife, Courtney, of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by great grandsons, Nicolas McGee and Nathaniel Pratt of Plano, TX, and Anson German of Kansas City, MO. Helen was a good wife and mother who raised her family with Wayne primarily in Richardson, Texas. She also worked as a secretary and later as a travel agent. After Wayne died in 1979 in California, she moved back to Richardson where she bought her first home as a single woman. She became reacquainted with a family friend, Homer Holland. They were married in 1987 and split time between “the ranch” in Royse City and her home in Richardson. Helen enjoyed traveling, playing the slot machines in Vegas and Bossier City, Tai Chi at the Senior Center, and spending time with family. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her kindness, her pride in her Polish heritage, her mischievous smile, and her love of all things chocolate. In lieu of flowers, if you are so inclined, contributions to the American Lung Association or the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. The family would like to thank Brightstar Care for their service over the last several years, and specifically to Mariana and Jamila for their friendship and love for Helen. Helen’s life will be celebrated in a service at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 15 in the Chapel at First United Methodist Church of Plano, 3160 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano.
