Mark Stuart Melzow

October 10, 1947 - January 18, 2022

Melzow, Mark S, 74 of Garland Tx, surrounded by family passed away January 18, 2022. “No more suffering, no more pain, on Eagles Wings”. Mark was born in Flint, Michigan and grew up in Lapeer Mi on Pleasant/Pero lake community that was once owned by his Great grandfather Frank Miles and developed by his Grandfather H. Ward Groom. After graduating from Lapeer HS, Mark joined the US Air Force during the Vietnam War in 1966, stationed in Minot ND. It was there while working as a Medic in pediatrics he met the love of his life, Pamela A Melzow. They fell in Love at first sight and were married 3 months later. Happily married for 52 years, together they raised 2 children, who then gave them 4 Grandchildren and 2 Great grandchildren. Mark was nicknamed “the baby whisperer” by his family. The love he had for his children and grandchildren will be cherished forever in our hearts. Mark and Pam loved taking road trips around the country. He was an athlete in his younger days and an avid sports fan. Over the past few years Mark and Pam have helped care for his brother Bruce, who suffered a stroke at Christmas in 2018 and is now living nearby in Garland. Mark was happy to have his brother close by so that he could help him in his time of need. Mark showed his family his love by being strong, kind, unbelievably selfless, a witty sense of humor and loved with all his might. Preceded in death by his parents William and Virginia G. Melzow. Survived by his Wife Pamela (Jawtakis) Son Erik (Tonya) Melzow; Daughter Sarah (Nathan) Davis, Granddaughters Morgan, Sydney, Kendall, and Skylar; Great grandsons Vincent and Leo. Brothers Ward (Sally) Melzow, Bruce Melzow; Sister Marsha (Roger) Numerich; along with several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Garland Tx, Springcreek church. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Paralyzed Veterans of America or Dallas Gospel Mission.
