I have been searching the internet for the past few years to reconnect with Dr. Cronholm. I’ve had a few leads but unsuccessful. I came across his obituary last night and was extremely sad to read the news. Over 25 years ago, he saved a little girl (me) from a drowning accident in Tyler, TX. My parents are still so grateful for Dr. Cronholm and wanted to reconnect to extend their gratitude. Unfortunately, they lost touch due to the language barrier (South Korean) and were unsure how to reconnect after so many years. Dr. Cronholm and his family were such warm, inviting and friendly people. I’m glad to have known him for such a short time and will forever carry that memory of him visiting me at the hospital after my accident.
I’m hoping this post will be shared with the Cronholm family - hope you are all doing well.

Perhaps it was in the mid-1980s John Danna decided he should make a visit to Dallas Presbyterian Hospital’s ER. He had punctured his hand on a rusty deer feeder barrel & red streaks were traveling up his arm. Dr. Cronholm was the attending physician. Both men began their hunting conquest conversations-Mike of duck hunting & John of turkey hunting. John had the convincing power & Mike soon became an avid turkey hunter & joined in on our Eastland lease. I rarely saw Mike that camouflage wasn’t the uniform of choice for all of these years. John also convinced Mike that fishing at Northwoods Lodge in Alaska should be a priority & so a salmon fishing trip was checked off the list. Mike & John are now enjoying some heavenly outdoors together again. Mike, thanks for the friendship over the years. Sandi Danna

Mike was a great friend and teammate, back in the day on the Rice track team. I have great memories of our time together during the seasons, at post-season meets in California, and at the NCAA championships. Besides being a wonderful athlete, he had a quick wit and an eye for effective practical jokes. It was always a joy to catch up with him at Rice reunion events. He was truly a fine human being.
My four older sisters and I grew up next to the Cronholm's and Mike was always so nice to me even though I was just a pesky little kid. When he was in high school and I was in elementary school he'd practice throwing the javelin on Wallace's playground in the evenings, and he taught me how to throw it, and would even leave his javelin on their front porch so I could use it. He also TRIED to teach me to swing a golf club but I never caught on to that! What patience and generosity. I am so sorry for your loss.
Will always remember how we must have looked roaming the aisles of the Eastland Walmart after 2 days of Turkey hunting at the lease. Me in my camo, covered in dirt stains, pushing a grocery cart with Mike sitting inside with his leg cast hanging over the front end. His mad scientist hair sticking straight up… calling out directions at the top of his lungs in search of the beer and wine aisle. The people of Walmart that night would never have guessed that those two homeless looking people were actually 2 physicians!
Judy and I are so sorry for your loss. Mike and I became friends when we first met at Wallace Elementary. Mike served as the Best Man at our wedding in 1973 and throughout the years we stayed in contact and remained friends. We will miss him greatly. Louis and Judy Williamson
