Ruth Evelyn Paris

July 31, 1926 - April 5, 2022

Ruth Evelyn Riggs Paris, 95 years young, entered into her eternal reward on April 5, 2022. Blessed with a relatively uneventful medical history up until her last few weeks, Evelyn was still playing her favorite Skipbo game up until her last few days. Affectionately called Mee-maw by many (whether kin or not), she was also lovingly known to family as the Woman of Twenty Questions. Evelyn was born on July 31, 1926, in Cleburne, Texas, to James Alton Riggs and Jettie Mae Baggett. She grew up with siblings Mary Kathryn, Curtis, and Harold, graduated from Godley High School, and was married to Jack Paris for 56 years until his death in 2003. As a family Jack and Evelyn were longtime members of Reinhardt Bible Church, and as seniors they were charter members at Redeemer Bible Church. In addition to her husband, Evelyn is predeceased by her parents, her siblings, her son Doug, and daughter-in-law Kay. She is survived by her sons Steve, Greg (Jeanette), and Tim; her grandchildren Aaron (Kori) Paris, Emily (Nathan) Ivey, Lenore Paris, Phillip (Rebecca) Paris, Sarah Paris, Julian Paris, and Rachel Paris; her great-grandchildren Joshua, Evan, Emma, Stephen, Clayton, and Grace; her sister-in-law Norma Jean Paris; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and treasured friends. As family and friends, there is peace and comfort in knowing that our devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, caregiver, and friend, who took care of so many during her full and resourceful life, now is in the care and presence of her Father and Creator. Visitation will be at Restland on Wednesday, 4/13, 6-8 P.M. A graveside service will be at Restland on Thursday, 4/14, at 10:30 A.M. A Celebration of Life service and reception will be at the Events Center (across Walnut from Restland’s visitation building) on Thursday, 4/14 at 11 A.M. Kent Barnard, longtime care pastor and friend, will officiate. Memorials may be made to Union Gospel Mission and Alzheimer's Association Dallas & Northeast Texas Chapter.
