A. Lucius Hill's Obituary
A. Lucius Hill was born on January 15, 1946, in Amarillo, Texas, to Rayford A. and Ruthie Belle Hill. He is survived by his bride of 43 years, Pamela Ann Pruett Hill. They were married on June 12, 1966, in Cimarron, New Mexico. Lou died January 28, 2010 at 64 years of age, after battling bladder cancer for more than 1 year. Lou and Pam were blessed with a wonderful family. They have three daughters: Melissa Gillham (Mark) of Star, Idaho; Heather Bradfield (Greg) of Tucson, Arizona; and Rebecca Standridge (Chris) of Durango, Colorado; and nine grandchildren: Travis, Wesley, Mason, Alexandria, Sydney, Matthew, Raegan, Victoria, and Vanessa. Lou has pastored four churches in the U.S. over the last 30 years and has led each of them to be strong, mission-minded churches. His heart for missions and his belief that missions are the primary job of the church played a strong part in his willingness to answer God’s call to be the Executive Director of Balkan States Ministries. This was his last assignment from God here on earth. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend and mentor to many. He had the gift of exhortation and encouraged many people. Up until a week before he died, he was an ambassador for the Lord: doctors, nurses, and anyone he came in contact with him received the gospel in a loving way. He was a trustworthy, honest, forgiving, and godly man.
