Abel Jacob Santos' Obituary
Abel “Jacob” Santos, 22, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on January 14, 2016, after fighting a strong battle against a rare blood disorder, Evans Syndrome. He was born on December 26, 1993, in Dallas, the son of Abel and Shea (Mitchell) Santos. He graduated from Berkner High School, attended Brookhaven Community College, and was currently enrolled at Richland Community College. Jacob was an extraordinary young man whose strong and charming spirit, kindness, and love for his family always shined through. He embraced life and touched the hearts of everyone he met. He was an avid soccer fan, playing with his friends and watching every La Liga and English Premier League game, always rooting for FC Barcelona. After battling with leukemia as a child and aplastic anemia as an adult, Jacob lived life to the fullest, his positive attitude and strength never faltering. He was blessed to receive two bone marrow transplants from both Steven Lloyd and Jacob’s younger brother, Nikolaus. Throughout his medical battles, Jacob always kept his profound sense of humor and was an inspiration for his devoted family and friends. Jacob was preceded in death by his grandpa, Jerral Mitchell (“PooPa”), his cousin, Jovan Hernandez, and his beloved dog, Waylon. He is survived by his parents, Abel and Shea Santos; his siblings, Alexis, Nikolaus, and Abby Santos. He also leaves his great grandmother, Genoveva Rivera; his grandparents, Beth and Dave Oates, and Rodolfo and Josefina Santos; his uncles, Joel and Rudy Santos; his aunts, Christy Mitchell, and Nora and Diana Santos. He is also survived by countless great aunts, great uncles, and cousins. The service will be held at Restland Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
