Ada Merle Brown's Obituary
Ada Merle Brown, 94, of Dallas, Texas passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, in Mesquite, Texas. She was born on Friday, May 1, 1925, to her loving and thoughtful parents John Talley and Dovie Meredith in Mt. Vernon, Texas. Ada Merle graduated from Mt. Vernon High at 17, moved to Dallas, and attended Draughons Business School downtown and worked at North American Military plant. Shortly after the war, she married Melvin in Dallas, Texas on February 2, 1946, and lived in Oak Cliff, then moved to the Lake Highlands area in 1960. She was a homemaker, a loving wife and best devoted mother to her 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was a member at her beloved church (LHBC) since 1960, taught 3rd grade Sunday School for many years. She will be missed so much by her family and friends. Our family would like to thank the staff for the loving care in the Special Care Unit at Christian Care Center in Mesquite, Texas.Ada is survived by her daughter Brenda Giboney (Scott) of Mesquite, Texas, her sons Larry M. Brown (Marsha) of Mesquite, Texas, and Tim L. Brown (Mary) of Pflugerville, Texas, her grandchildren Brian, Meredith, Emily, and Jacob, and her 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Brown.Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019 at Lake Highlands Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019 at Lake Highlands Baptist Church, located at 642 Brookhurst Dr., Dallas, Texas 75218. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Colliers Chapel Cemetery in Franklin County.
