Adele "Dede" Roberts' Obituary
Adele “Dede” Roberts was born, September 6, 1941 in El Paso, Texas to Adele and George Howard. She died peacefully at her home in Dallas, Texas, August 21, 2017.Dede had a passion for people. She never met a stranger and always made people feel special. Her career included public relations and communications using her Bachelor degree which she earned at 55 years old. In her later years, she worked as a business assistant. She found retirement not to her liking and remained in the workforce so she could continue to be engaged with people of all ages.Her curiosity for life and the world was extensive. She traveled throughout the world and also enjoyed learning about other’s travels.Dede was also fascinated with gadgets. She would light up explaining the latest “invention” that would revolutionize the world. It was no surprise that she worked in advertising.Dede was strong in her faith and believed in her Savior, Jesus Christ. She passed her belief on to her daughter, Janet.The greatest joy and pride of Dede’s life was her family. She loved spending time with them and participating in their lives. Shortly before her death, she was treated to an evening listening to her granddaughter, Natalie, talk about her recent mission trip to Africa which filled her with joy.Dede is predeceased by her parents and daughter, Sandra Roberts. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Duval, son-in-law, Greg Duval and grandchildren, Lauren Riley Duval and Natalie Elizabeth Duval.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Feed Lake Highlands (feedlakehighlands.com) or the SPCA of Dallas.Celebration in the life of Dede will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 26, 2017, in the chapel of Lake Highlands United Methodist Church, 9015 Plano Road, Dallas, Texas 75238.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
