Adelita Maria Jones' Obituary
Adelita (Adel) Maria Jones, 75, went home to be with the Lord on March 20, 2026, after a short battle with cancer. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God whose life was centered on family, faith, and caring for others.
Adelita will be remembered for her unwavering faith in God and her servant’s heart. Devoted to her family, she chose to run an in-home daycare so she could be present for her two children before they began school. She later dedicated many years to Garland ISD, where she dutifully served as a registrar. Her love for the Lord was evident in her work at Casa View Assembly of God, where she served in children’s church ministry and as a Sunday school teacher, touching the lives of many. Above all, Adel cherished time spent with her family and found her greatest joy in being an active and loving presence in the lives of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother Melquiades and Dora Duran and brother Collie.
She is survived by her son, Brandon Jones and wife Adriana; her daughter, Deanna Swiney and husband Stephen. The 2 brightest joys in her life were her grandchildren, Kayla and Jackson Swiney. She is also survived by her brother Edward and wife Laurie as well as 2 sisters Rebecca and Priscilla. She leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A service to celebrate Adelita’s life will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Casa View Assembly of God.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
