Adelle Costin's Obituary
Adelle Petree Costin, age 93, formerly of Richardson, Texas, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Costin was born March 6, 1922 in Beaumont, Texas. After attending Baylor University, she met and married her loving husband of 65 years. She later served as secretary for the mayor of Lubbock. After a move to Richardson, Adelle was a homemaker and a member of Richardson Heights Baptist Church where she sang in the Singing Saints choir. In 2013, she moved to Amarillo to live with her son. Lovingly called “Mom”, “Grandma” and “Aunt Dell” by many, she will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Costin, her parents, Clayton and Lera Petree, brother, James H. Petree, two sisters, Pauline Petree and Mary Lynn Richardson and a daughter-in-law, Cathy Costin. Survivors include one son, Jim Costin, of Amarillo, Texas; one grandson, DeWayne Costin, of Enterprise, Mississippi; one sister, Patsy Dial of Vidor, Texas; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home, Dallas. Private burial will be 10 AM Monday at Restland Cemetery, Dallas with Rev. Harold Petree officiating. A memorial service will be held Monday at 2 PM at Richardson Heights Baptist Church, Richardson, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cal Farley Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, Texas 79174-0001.
