Adlai Peña's Obituary
It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the death of our son and brother, Adlai Peña. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2023, on All Souls Day.
Adlai was born on November 25, 1963, at St Paul Hospital in Dallas, Texas to Carlos & Connie Peña. His birthdays were always on or around Thanksgiving. He lived in Dallas until he was 9, and then moved to Garland Texas. He attended North Garland High School and afterward went to college at Texas A&M in Commerce, Texas. He worked mainly in the food service business. He enjoyed meeting and talking to people, so this path served him well. He worked at several different restaurants over his career but the two restaurants where he started out were at Andrews and The Hard Rock Cafe, both in Dallas, Texas. This is where he made some lifelong friendships. He was always ready to have a good time. Always with a smile, and always a friend to anyone. Adlai had and still to this day has friends that he grew up with as kids. They are not just friends, they are much more than that, they are his brothers and sisters. Brothers and sisters not by blood, but family just the same.
Adlai never married.
He enjoyed watching all of the Dallas sports teams but especially the Cowboys. He loved his family, friends and his only nephew, Brandon.
He is survived by his parents, Carlos & Connie Peña, his sister, Jennifer Anderson and brother-in-law, Keith Anderson, his nephew, Brandon Anderson, her niece, Ashley Anderson, great-nephews, Aidan Anderson & Cade Smiley, friends, aunts, uncles, & cousins.
The Holy Rosary will be prayed at Restland Funeral Home at 5:30 in the evening on Thursday, November 9, 2023. Family will receive friends following the Rosary until 8:00PM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 in the afternoon on Friday, November 10, 2023, at St. Paul Catholic Church (720 S. Floyd Road - Richardson, Texas - 75080). Interment will follow the Funeral Mass at Restland Memorial Park.
