Cavender, Adrian In memory of a loving wife of 54 years, mother of three, grandmother of four, sister, and friend to many. Adrian was born a “firecracker” on July 4, 1925 in Henderson, Texas and passed away peacefully January 14, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Allen, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.W. Cavender; son, Randy; her parents, Lawrence and Ara Jackson. Adrian is survived by son, Mike Cavender and wife, Becky, of Plano, TX; grandson, Kyle Cavender and wife, Brittany of Dallas; granddaughter, Lauren Cavender of Denver, CO; daughter, Joy Gatlin and husband, Bob of Allen, TX; granddaughters, Lindsay Dickerson and husband, Todd of McKinney, TX; Christine Gatlin of McKinney, TX; and sister, Lavelle Henderson of Harlingen, TX; plus many other loving in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Adrian was a multi-generation Texan who attended North Texas Teachers College and went to work for Sun Oil Company during World War II. She met the love of her life, E.W., while he was on leave from the Navy in 1945. They married on October 18, 1946. They enjoyed 54 years with each other and loved their retirement years together, creating many special memories for themselves and their family, including a European vacation. Adrian was a wonderful homemaker and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Special thanks to all of the life-long friends they loved at Reinhardt Bible Church and Redeemer Bible Church who have been so supportive of them over the past 67 years! Our family has great appreciation for Adrian’s daughter, Joy, who has been her daily caregiver for the past three years. Our family is very grateful for all Joy has done! The family will receive friends on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. A memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 12:30 PM at Restland’s Wildwood Chapel.
