Agnes Silvey Sorrels' Obituary
Agnes Silvey Sorrels passed away on May 30, 2016, after a lengthy illness and is now in the presence of her Lord, whom she loved, served, and obeyed since being saved in her youth. She was a virtuous woman, possessing and exhibiting a character beyond reproach. Her love and godly example will be dearly missed. Preceded in death by her parents, James T. and Bonnie Lee Silvey; her husband, Forrest V. Sorrels; and her siblings, two sisters and a brother. She was born on November 15, 1921 in Stewart, a small community outside of Henderson, Texas. She graduated from Tatum High School and attended The College of Marshall before working a short time in Washington, DC for the government. She met her husband there, and they were married in 1946 in Dallas, where they lived the rest of their lives, he as a Secret Service agent and she as a devoted homemaker. Agnes is survived by her two daughters, Susan Dennis and Grace Hall; Susan’s children and grandchildren; her dear stepdaughter, Sandra Herod and her extended family; and stepson, Charles Sorrels. She will be buried on Saturday, June 4, at Stewart Cemetery in East Texas, with a private graveside service.
