Aileen J. Trollinger's Obituary
Aileen J. Trollinger, born on October 9, 1931, in Asheville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 93. Aileen was the beloved daughter of Marion and John Johnston.
Aileen graduated from Duke University in 1954 with a degree in Political Science. Her education and passion for learning remained evident throughout her life, as she was known for her keen intellect, love of reading and completing the daily crossword.
A devoted mother, Aileen raised three children who were the pride of her life. She balanced family and community, giving back in countless ways. For 36 years, Aileen volunteered at Presbyterian Hospital, where she holds the distinguished record for the most hours ever volunteered. Her tireless dedication and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Aileen was an avid sports fan, especially devoted to Duke basketball and the Dallas Cowboys football team. Beyond her remarkable volunteer work, she had a spirited love for rock and roll music that reflected her vibrant personality. She cherished days spent at the beach, finding joy and peace by the shore.
Aileen was predeceased by her parents, her brother Jack Johnston, and her daughter Tona Trollinger. She is survived by her son Rob Trollinger, and daughter-in-law Stacey Trollinger of Asheville, NC, and her daughter Gay Hibdon of Kerrville, TX.
Aileen’s life was a testament to love, service, and joy. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Services will be held at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in the chapel at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13. A reception will follow. An informal gathering and celebration of Aileen’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 12, from 5-7 p.m. at Ozona Bar and Grill on Greenville Avenue.
She will be sincerely missed by family and friends.
