Dr. Alan B. Wagner's Obituary
Alan Burton Wagner went to be with our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, on February 25, 2024, at the age of 85. After a very long battle with Parkinson’s and Dementia, Alan died peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born on June 8, 1938, to Robert and Anna Wagner in Baltimore, Maryland, Alan graduated with honors and received his BS from Johns Hopkins University. He went on to receive his MSME and PhD from Case Western Reserve University. A true pioneer in business and finance, Alan worked for different international companies from 1964 until 1982, before he went out on his own to create Wagner Management, Inc. The company grew into what is known today as Wagner Industries, Inc., a leader in the metal fabrication Industry providing materials for all of the top aerospace companies around the globe. Alan sat on several college and university boards, was a guest lecturer in entrepreneurship in several academic settings and a member of different prestigious academic and business organizations.
While he accomplished much as an entrepreneur in the aerospace industry, he will be remembered most for his love and devotion to his wife of 60 years, Lynn Wagner, his children, Brian (Mary), David (Jennifer), and Beth Lynn (Mark); plus, his grandchildren Anna, Mark, Andrew, Ashton, Markus, Matthew, Maci Lynn, Tanner, and Claren; plus, one great-grandchild, Mikaela. Alan was a faithful member of Prestonwood Baptist Church and in all things, gave God the glory. Whether with his time, talent, or treasure, Alan left a legacy that will be remembered for many years to come.
A private, family burial will be held later this week. A Celebration of Life service will be held on March 25th, 2024, at the Chapel at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano. All friends and family are invited to honor Alan’s legacy. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Parkinson Voice Project or Prestonwood Baptist Church PowerPoint Ministries.
