Mr. Albert Paul Bilger's Obituary
BILGER, ALBERT PAUL Albert Bilger (94) passed away peacefully at his home on June 28, 2007. He was born on September 5, 1912. Albert left this life to join his wife, Marjorie, and his parents, Adolphe and Hedwig Bilger, in heaven. A lifelong Dallas resident, Albert graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1930 and enjoyed a successful career as florist in the family business, Bilger Florist on Greenville Ave., for over 50 years. He worked at North American Aviation during WW-ll, and served on the board of Greenville Avenue State Bank and its successor institutions for over 25 years. He was confirmed as a member of St Paul’s E & R Church as a young man and has been a member of Northway Christian Church since the early 1960’s. Albert loved life, his family and helping others. He especially enjoyed his life on Greenville Avenue since 1926 and his decades of walking at NorthPark Center. Many friends at those two locations knew him as ‘Mr. B’. Survivors include his daughter Barbara Bilger, son A. Paul Bilger, Jr., D.V.M., and sister Elma Romanowski; nieces Charlotte Gordon, Sonja Romanowski, Sharon Dunaway and Doris Romanowski; nephew Bill Ballard; and recent care giver Betty Moore. Family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, June 29th at Restland Funeral Home, Dallas. Services will be at 4:00 pm Saturday, June 30th at Restland Memorial Chapel.
