Albert Bruce Dunks' Obituary
Albert B Dunks, 78, died April 9, 2019. Born April 29, 1940. Al was a violin prodigy who studied under Leopold Stokowski and won a full music scholarship to Sam Houston State in Huntsville. Following a concert tour in Europe. Al put in 13 years in the US Army, over a decade of that time in Special Forces as a Green Beret in Vietnam and elsewhere.After his military service, Al worked for GTE, later Verizon, retiring in 2009 after 30 years. Al and Nancy celebrated their B’nai Mitzvah at Temple Shalom in Dallas in 2004 in a class of 16. Member of Irving Havurah since 2005, Al was a life member of Hadassah and Pot 256 of the Jewish War Vets and a member of the DAV.Rabbi Frank Joseph led the graveside service at Kever Israel section of Restland of Dallas on April 10 and also memorial service at Irving Havurah on April 13. Shiva was observed at their home in Irving.
