Albert L. Escobedo's Obituary
Albert L. Escobedo, 87, of Allen, TX, passed away peacefully at Mustang Creek Estates of Allen on December 19,2016 with his daughter and granddaughter by his side. Albert was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Abel Escobedo, and daughter Elizabeth Palacios. Albert is survived by sister Josephine Santoyo; son Alberto (Martha) Escobedo; daughter Oneida (Raymond) Kurzon; daughter Naomi Cook; son Abelardo (Kim) Escobedo; daughter-in-law Isabel (Abel) Escobedo; daughter Yvonne (Mike) Anderton; and son Dan (Sheila) Escobedo; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Albert was known as “Popo” to 22 loving grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. Albert’s passions were soccer, boxing and baseball; his love of baseball and The Texas Rangers lasted his entire life. Albert worked at John Deere as a forklift operator until his retirement in 1997. In later years, his passion turned to bowling, so it was no surprise when Don Carter’s West had “The Family” added to their Friday night bowling league roster. “The Family” lineup spanned over 40 years and included Albert’s children, nephews, and friends we now consider family. One of his greatest accomplishments occurred in January 2005, when he bowled a perfect 300 game at the age of 75 and his story was covered by The Dallas Morning News on January 10, 2005. This perfect game would be the first of two perfect games in Albert’s Senior PBA career. When he wasn’t traveling the country bowling in tournaments, his other hobbies included horseracing and traveling to Choctaw to play Texas Hold ‘Em. The family would like to thank Mustang Creek of Allen and Faith Presbyterian Hospice of Dallas for their loving care and support. As well as, the many friends we have made throughout the years from his John Deere and bowling families. Family will receive friends on Friday, December 23, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 2:30 PM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243
