Albert Jay Griffin's Obituary
Albert Jay Griffin, a.k.a. "Big Al", of Farmers Branch, TX passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020, at the age of 59.
Albert was born in Dallas, TX on December 28, 1960, to father Stuart Merwin Griffin and mother Jessamine Elizabeth Griffin. He was the youngest of their 7 children. After graduating from W.T. White High School in Dallas, Albert spent his early years dedicated to the study and practice of Iaido/Kendo martial arts. He spent 20 years perfecting his skills, eventually earning the high-ranking title of Sandan.
From 1989 to 2000, Albert was married to Sharon Fields and they shared three children together: Jeffrey, Mona, and Erin.
During this time, he began working in the swimming pool industry with which he became captivated and spent over 30 years as a manager, colleague and mentor, demonstrating his strong work ethic.
On December 10, 2003, Albert married Kelli Denyce Tucker, and spent his remaining years happily married.
Albert’s spirit will forever live on through remembering his unique humor that brought endless laughter to everyone around him and his ability to bring people together. He will be loved and missed dearly.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers George Griffin and Paul Griffin. He is survived by his wife Kelli Denyce Griffin, his three children; son Jeffrey Ryan Griffin, and daughters Mona Michelle Griffin and Erin Elizabeth Griffin. He is also survived by his two grandchildren: Savannah Leann Griffin and Collin Joel Griffin, as well as sisters Carol Griffin and Joyce Broadbent, and brothers Doug Griffin and Steve Griffin.
