Albert A. Ingels' Obituary
Born July 29, 1927 in Dallas, TX to Prosper and Margaret Ingels. He went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2017. Al was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a generous and caring man that will never be forgotten. He attended Sunset High School, Class of 1943. Following high school, Al attended North Texas Agriculture College in Arlington, TX, Class of 1945. He was Colonel of the Corps and President of the Officers Club. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII. After the war, Al attended Southern Methodist University from 1947-1949. He was President of the Delta Chi Fraternity at SMU. After graduating from college, Al was the Sales Manager at the Adolphus Hotel. He was the founding president of the Texas Hotel Sales Managers Club. After his time at the Adolphus Hotel Al began his career with Allstate Insurance where he served as the District Sales Manager for 37 years. He had a CLU and CFC degrees. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Ethel Lee; daughter Elise Hughes and husband, Gary, of Dallas; sons Mark Ingels, of Dallas and Christopher Ingels of Corpus Christi, TX; Grandchildren: Chris Hughes and wife, Rebecca of Houston, TX; Matthew Hughes of Dallas, TX; Joshua Ingels of Corpus Christi, TX; Great-grandson Henry C. Hughes of Houston, TX. Al was an avid gardener and after retiring from Allstate spent several years volunteering with his wife at the Dallas Arboretum. He took great pride in mentoring and teaching his children and grandchildren how to work hard and respect others. Mass of Christian Burial will be at All Saints Catholic Church, 5231 Meadow Creek Dr, Dallas TX 75248 at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 31. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
