Albert Gaylan Jensen's Obituary
On Christmas Day, 2015, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Albert Gaylan Jensen lost his heroic battle against pancreatic cancer. He endured his illness with faith and good cheer and was an inspiration to his family. When given only 3-6 months to live, he stood up to cancer, and enjoyed the blessing of a full life for 34 months. Al was born May 28, 1934 to Albert Henry and Mildred Elizabeth Kelsen Jensen in Salt Lake City, UT, and was an only child. He was later married in the Salt Lake Temple to the love of his life, Jacquie Hansen, and they celebrated more than 55 years together. They have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. AI graduated from the University of Utah as an art major, then served as a U.S. Air Force pilot and instructor for 9 years. He continued his love of flying as a pilot for American Airlines, retiring after 29 years. Al was a man of precision, tenacity, courage, dedication and loyalty. His hobbies included building and flying radio controlled airplanes, hunting and shooting, physical fitness, fixing just about anything, teaching as a certified concealed weapon instructor, and ballroom dancing with his beloved wife. Al was a well-respected Webelos Scout leader guiding more than 75 boys to great achievements. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, leaving a strong testimony of the gospel as a legacy. He knew families can be together forever. His greatest joys were with his family and he spent countless hours teaching, encouraging and supporting his children and grandchildren. He spent the last moments of his life expressing his love and bearing his testimony of the truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every member of his family. He is survived by his wife, Jacquie, two sons, Mark (Susan) Jensen and Douglas (Cherie) Jensen, and one daughter, Kimberly (Joel) Adair, and seven granddaughters: Victora Jensen (Mark and Susan); Liberty Jensen (Doug and Cherie); and Samantha, Madeline, Sariah, Miriam and Sophia Adair (Kim and Joel).
