Albert Lopez's Obituary
Albert Lopez, 85 years old, of Terrell, Texas was born to Donato Lopez and Maria Riojas Lopez. He passed away in his home on Sunday, April 28, 2024. Albert enlisted in the United States Army in 1956 and served until honorably discharged in 1962. He married Iva Lopez in August 1963. Albert became a welder by trade and assembled parts used in oilfields. Later, he worked on several welding projects in Dallas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Lopez, his mother, Maria Riojas Lopez, his father, Donato Lopez, his sister, Josie Vega and his daughter Terri Tillery. Albert is survived by his daughter, Paula McKenzie, husband Jeff; four grandchildren, Aaron Tillery, Eric McKenzie, wife Lacey, Kadee McGinnis, husband Tyler, Josh McKenzie, wife Alyssa; five great grandchildren, Caedan, Gage, Aspen, Benjamin, and Graham; his brother Dario Lopez, his sisters Mary Gomez, Lola Velasquez, Josie Vega, Guadalupe Gomez and nieces and nephews.
Albert and Iva married in 1963 and were together for 57 years. Iva passed away in December 2020. She was the love of Albert’s life. The two loved spending time together with their families. Though Albert was a husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, his favorite title was Pawpaw. He loved his grandkids more than life itself. Albert was one-of-a-kind. He enjoyed keeping a pristine home, a manicured lawn, watching old western TV shows, listening to country music, and reading the newspaper.
He will be buried at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas.
