At age 81, Pete Pierce of Dallas, Texas, passed away December 30th after a ten-day struggle with Covid. Born in Chicago, Illinois to Albert ("Al") and Helen Pierce, he grew up in the Dallas area. He spent summers visiting his mate Read Obituary
I flew with Pete many times as a copilot on the 727 and 767. Of all the captains I flew with, he was hands down my favorite. I always said he was the King of Cool. The photo you have of him asleep in the cockpit, I took and sent him when he retired. I can't believe he is gone. I am so sorry for your loss, he was one of a kind.

Because of my job with Delta in crew scheduling here in DFW I worked and got to know and share many terrific memories with Pete, going to the Masters, staying at his house in Carmel, having he and Lee at my house for dinner and wine, playing golf and many many more. I send my deepest sympathy to Lee and all the family. May Pete rest with God as that is where he belongs.

I can remember my mother Pete`s Aunt Marie Padish Doyle being so proud of Pete and his accomplishments in life and all the love and laughter when we would go and visit or when we all were in Indiana he was a wonderful person rest in piece.

Thank you all for your acknowledgement of my Dad’s passing through Facebook, texts, email, calls; your condolences mean the world to all of us. We are all still reeling from the shock of how quickly things changed from the security of feeling he has at least a few more good years to have that wiped away in an instant.
We are glad dad made such an impression on so many. I have had so many friends of one of the three of us over the years that have told me a story of how my dad was like a dad to them, or a situation that he stepped in and helped out with something they didn’t think they would get through, where he offered his love and support. He was a quiet hero to many people throughout his life.
Thank you all for sharing. I knew he could be difficult at times but he took great care of all of us and he had an endless amount of love for us and all of his grandchildren.
When things quiet down and it is one of those lazy days that I would normally pick up the phone and call my dad, that is when it will hit me. He isn’t home, he is soaring the sky’s with the angels.
