Alberto Guerrero's Obituary
Alberto Guerrero was born on December 26, 1939 to his loving parents, Alberto and Raquel Guerrero in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. His siblings were Oscar, Joel, Mario, Federico, Raul and Homero. Beto, as he was called by many, grew up in a modest “colonia las lomas” where he enjoyed riding his bike, playing baseball, swimming and diving and various mischievous adventures. “Muy Travieso” Beto was a hard worker and started working at the age of 10 at his father’s convenience store. He attended Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey where he studied Mechanical Engineering.Beto worked for Coca-Cola as a machinist in Monterrey before moving on to Ceramica Regiomontana. While at Ceramica Regiomontana, he was transferred to Dallas, Texas. After many years working for others, Beto established his own successful business, Al-Mar Machine Shop, with his brother Mario.Beto worked hard so he could send money to his family in Mexico. As a young man, his friends would always ask him to go out after work. He turned them down until one night in November 1963; he was bored and decided to go. That night would change his life. They went to the 1-2-3 Club in the heart of downtown Dallas. There he met the love of his life, Gloria. They were married September 26, 1964. In addition to a wife, Beto was blessed with two sons, Rolando and Carlos. Two years later, his only daughter, his princess, Raquel was born. The family was complete in 1971 when Alberto “Tito” was born.As an adult, Beto’s interests and adventures included bow and rifle hunting, fishing, cooking and traveling with Gloria to Europe, Mexico and all around the United States, especially Las Vegas. If you ever had the honor to visit the Guerrero home, you know that many of his hunting trophies are displayed there. If you visited their home, you also were blessed by his cooking. Beto was a wonderful chef and loved cooking for his family and friends. It didn’t matter when you stopped by, he was always immediately in the kitchen cooking for you. His recipes are a favorite for us all and he was always creating and experimenting in the kitchen. Beto’s meals and preparations were the way he loved to host others and show his love for them. Beto loved to be in the outdoors. He especially loved hunting and he passed that love on to his children and grandchildren.On June 9, 1995, 32 years after arriving in the United States, Alberto Guerrero became a United States Citizen. Beto loved America and was so proud to become a citizen of the country he loved so much. Beto lived a full life surrounded by his beautiful wife of 54 years, Gloria, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his entire family. He was blessed to live close to his brothers and in-laws. Beto had many nieces and nephews he was very close to. He cherished his role as the patriarch of the family.Beto lived a life filled with love, family and adventure. He worked hard all of his life and with Gloria, created a beautiful and loving home for his family. He truly lived the American Dream.He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gloria Guerrero. His Children Rolando Ignacio and Eva Gomez, Carlos Jose and Cynthia Gomez, David Tomas and Raquel Galvan and Alberto II and Amy Guerrero. His Grandchildren: Rolando and Samantha Gomez, Mario and Priscilla Noyola, Rico and Nataly Gomez, Carlos and Brigget Gomez, Jacob and Vanessa Gomez, Christopher and Melissa Gomez, Braden Galvan, Matthew Galvan, Dakota Guerrero, and Lucas Guerrero. His Great-Grandchildren: Victoria Gomez, Briana Gomez, Mariah Gomez, Caesar Gomez, Romeo Gomez, Kaitlyn Gomez, Nathan Gomez, Jaden Gomez, Alexa Gomez, Christopher Gomez, Isabella Gomez, Audriana Galvan. His siblings: Oscar and Eva Guerrero, Joel (deceased) and Sylvia Guerrero, Mario (deceased) and Juanita Guerrero, Federico and Rosa Guerrero, Raul and Socorro Guerrero, and Homero and Teresa Guerrero. He is also survived by many beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alberto and Raquel Guerrero.Visitation will be held Saturday, May 25, 2019, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, May 26, 2019, at 2:30 PM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Ave Dallas, Texas 75243.
