Alexis Joy Mauro's Obituary
MAURO, ALEXIS JOY Became the light of her family’s lives on September 15, 2007 and passed away on January 18, 2012 after a sudden illness. She is survived by her loving parents, mother, Amanda Hartmann Mauro, father, Eric Mauro, and her mother’s friend, Michael Bermudez; maternal grandparents, Paul and Pamela Hartmann, paternal grandmother, Sarina Mauro; aunt, Celeste Mauro; aunt and uncle, Sarah and Christopher Hartmann; cousins, Cadence Mauro and David Hartmann and great grandparents Donald and Leora Hartmann and William Buntrock. Alexis dreamed of being a princess and, in the eyes of all who knew and loved her, she was. She had a love for all things pink. Her imagination took her to places and on adventures few of us will ever experience. Whether she was a pirate on the sea or a princess in a castle, she brought all of those around her into a new and wonderful world. She was the pride and joy of her father and his little princess, was so bright and eager to learn, and showed an amazing ability to learn sign language. With her mother, Alexis loved playing dress-up, having her face painted and playing make believe. To her grandparents she was known as her Mema’s “Little Tweety Bird” and her G-Ja’s “Buggy Bee”. Alexis brightened the lives of all those who knew her and she will live in all our hearts forever. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00PM, Friday, January 20, 2012 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 3:30PM at Restland Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital.
