Alfred Herman Henry's Obituary
Henry, Alfred “Pete” – age 74, of Dallas, went to his home with the Lord on December 14, 2011. He is preceded in death by parents James and Connie, brothers Jake and Jimmy, and sister Pansy. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Georgie, son Scot, sister Mildred Weathers, brother Robert, adopted grandchildren Hannah, Rebekah, and Jessicah, 2 great grandchildren, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Glenn Heights. Loving children, he was a tender and caring father and grandfather to many regardless of family relation. He enjoyed family, friends, good food, and westerns. Like the old cowboys, he would often quietly ride in and roll up his sleeves to help others. Throughout everything in his life, he retained a sense of humor. He held several different jobs during his life. In retirement, he called himself a machine operator, taking care of his wife using the oven, washing machine and other equipment. Riding off to his heavenly mansion, he will be sorely missed by many. Viewing will be at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas on Sunday, December 18th, from 2pm to 4pm. Funeral services will be held at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Cemetery on Monday at 10am. The family requests that donations be made to Community Hospice of Texas (www.chot.org) in lieu of flowers.
