Alice May Barnes' Obituary
BARNES, ALICE MAY died on October 26, 2012 at Hopice of East Texas in Tyler, Texas. She was born on May 4, 1924 in Fall River, Massachusetts to the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jones. She was a wonderful cook, excellent seamstress and created comfortable homes for her family wherever life took her: Oklahoma, Florida, Hawaii, and Texas. Alice loved the Lord and her church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Barnes; and daughter, Stephanie DeAnn Harvey. Alice is survived by her daughter, Vivian Cox of Mineola, Texas; grandsons, Jerry (Nancy) Harvey of The Colony, Texas, Dr. James (Katherine) Harvey of Fort Worth, Texas, Scott Harvey of Burkburnett, Texas; great grandchildren, Will and Mary Hannah Harvey of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Francis (Joan) Jones of Dartmouth, Massachusetts and Frederick Jones of Huntsville, Texas; sisters, Marion (Charles) Milligen; and Sarah (David) Swindells of Westport, Massachusetts; a multitude of nieces and nephews; card buddies and her church family at Smith Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church in Mineola, immediately followed by the funeral service. The graveside service will be held later at 3:00 PM at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, Hospice of East Texas or any charity of your choice.
