Alice Wetterau Case's Obituary
Allice Wetterau Case, 94, of Carrollton, TX passed away July 23, 2020 after a brief illness. She was born May 19, 1926 to parents Lin and Allie Wetterau in Tampa, FL. She grew up in the Nashville, TN area and graduated from Hillsboro High School (TN). She graduated from George Peabody College for Teachers in 1948 and began her teaching career. She soon moved to Oklahoma City, OK where she met her future husband, Sanford (Bill) Case. They married in May of 1957. They were married for 62 years before Bill’s passing in early April of this year. Soon thereafter they moved to the Carrollton, TX area where she worked as a science teacher at R.L. Turner High School until her retirement in May of 1987.
Alice loved to oil paint and read. She spent many hours painting her favorite bluebonnet landscape scenes. She and Bill also traveled extensively both internationally and domestically. They developed many close and lasting friendships with their camping buddies through their retirement years.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband Bill Case. She is survived by her daughter Eli (Jimmy) Griffin and her son Sanford (Debbie) Case. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Alan (Kamiey) Griffin, Craig (Tara) Griffin, Peter Case, and Paige Case. She is survived by seven great-grandchildren; Lucas Case, Aubrey Griffin, Amelia Griffin, Aaron Griffin, and Cade, Ramey and Eli Rodriguez. She is also survived by her brother, Lin (Mary) Wetterau.
Given the current restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 virus, no funeral service is planned at this time.
