Alice Lucile Hansen's Obituary
HANSEN, ALICE LUCILE HOMAN Born October 18, 1924 in Newton, KS to Harry and Blanche Homan and passed away June 15, 2008 in Dallas, TX. Alice was a graduate from Peabody High School in 1943 and also from the Electronic Radio-Television Institute in Omaha, NE in 1943. She was a teletype operator for the US Army Air Forces in Wichita, KS, from 1944-1945 and married Lawrence W. Hansen on February 20, 1945 in Boston, MA, who preceded her in death. She also worked for Western Union Telegraph Co, as an operator in 1946. Alice was a Cub Scout den mother, VA Hospital volunteer, certified nurse’s aid, medical secretary at UT Southwestern Medical School. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, rug-making, square dancing, playing bridge and bingo and she was a member of the Red Hat Society. Survived by her daughter, Karen ‘Huggy’ and her husband, Dr. Bill ‘Bear’ Nelson of Denton, TX; her son, Dr. Phillip and his wife, Wendy Hansen of Dallas, TX; her grandchildren, Eric, Caroline and Andrew and his wife, Samantha Hansen, all of Dallas. Private interment to join her husband, Larry, in the DFW National Cemetery.
