SCOVEL, ALICE IONE born May 18, 1922 in Rankin, Texas has passed away December 28, 2013 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Preceded in death by, husband, Floyd Asa Scovel; brother, Harold Holmes; sister, Bennie Thorn; son, Winston “Buzz” Stice; granddaughters, Ginger Brenton, Jill Stice; grandson, Scott Kirby. Alice is survived by her children, Sheri DeLoach (Harold), Bennie Cornwell (Jack), Tammy Cooper (Chris), Donna Brenton, Sandra Laughman (Scott), Gail Palmer (Cal), Steve Scovel (Lisa), and Tommy Scovel; siblings, Wayne Holmes and Denzel Holmes; twenty eight grandchildren and fifty two great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Irving, Texas with visitation 1 hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 AM. In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: Humanitarian Aid Fund by going to www.ldsphilanthropies.org and selecting “Donate” and choosing the option for Humanitarian Aid-General Fund
