Even though Grandma Alice, as we called her, was not our biological mother, she was our adopted Mom and Grandma to my Daughter Audra and when I introduced her to my in-law family…she became a huge part of all of us, especially at our “Smith Christmas” gathering, where we ate, shared stories, and “baskets” for Adults; presents for the children.
My husband “David” was her adopted Son, as she would refer to him to everyone. He and Alice would have coffee together; David would do any and every thing that Alice would ask.
We, David, our daughter Audra, and myself lived next door to Alice for many years, until we moved to Edgewood, Texas.
I have much more to say about Miss Alice, but I believe that I have shared just a little of our beloved Alice (Grandma Alice) to all of you. In closing I wish to let Polly and her family know how much we all loved her Mother. that we all loved her unconditionally and she loved her family and adopted family so much. I, personally, will miss her very much. The “Bell” Dennis and Diana and family, the “Woods” Jerry (which we lost) and Linda and family, the “Smith” Roger and family, and the “Justice” Larry and Kathy and family, and so many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that Alice grew to love us all. We all will miss Grandma Alice so much and loved her so much.
Thank you. for listening to me!
