Known to family and friends as AB.
AB’s life was well lived. He traveled around the globe installing elevators that he designed and built. He loved meeting and talking with anyone who would stop and visit. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Irving and a Mason.
His loyalty to God, family and his country was something he was known for.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War as an MP in San Antonio, TX. After leaving the Army, he worked for his Grandfather BF Johnson’s Elevator Company (which was the first registered elevator company in the state of Texas). After leaving his grandfathers company he worked for Esco Elevator Company that was owned by Bob Loughridge his god father. In 1968 he left Esco to form his own elevator company, Trojan Elevator. Upon his retirement he turned the company over to his son Dale who still owns and operated the company.
AB was a very involved father. He led Sunday school classes and was a Scout Master to name a few of his commitments to making sure his children had a solid foundation in life.
One of his greatest joys was spending time with family and friends, piloting airplanes and fishing every chance he got. After his grandchildren were born, he enjoyed and looked forward to every Saturday gatherings at his house where hamburgers and great conversations happened. (He would tell you that was how he knew what day of the week it was)
He was dearly loved and will be missed by all.
