Allen Delgado's Obituary
Allen Bruce Delgado was lovingly brought into life in El Paso, Texas on May 28, 1960 and peacefully transcended into immortality from Dallas, Texas in the early morning of June 27, 2015. Awaiting their beloved youngest son with opened arms to escort him to our Lord were both parents, Enrique P. Delgado (d. 1998) and Martha M. Delgado (d. 1987). He is survived by his loving older brother, Henry Delgado (Dallas, TX), Patricia A. Alderton (more of a sister than cousin, El Paso, TX), Brenda A. Epley (more of a sister than cousin, El Paso, TX), five aunts, two uncles, and thirty cousins who live in California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Texas, Germany, Holland, and Mexico. Allen very often thanked our Lord for abundantly blessing him with his life enhancing gifts of — (in alphabetical order) Pastor Larry Burden, Scott Davanay, Norman Garrett, Pastor Lane Lovvorn, his Aunt Panro (Esperanza Morales), and Carl Smith (henceforth referenced as Allen’s God squad) — for their profound Christian influences on him. They kept giving him strength and hope by not only believing in him, but by also giving him opportunities, being mentors, by their nurturing and watchful ways, by their very Christ-like nature, by giving Allen their unconditional love, encouraging him, helping him, guiding him, keeping in touch, and praying with him during his adult years and certainly during his courageous and inspiring three year epic challenge with his daily dialysis due to his complete kidney failure. In December 1997, Pastor John Osteen of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas brought Allen to our Lord. He told Allen, “You have a great calling on your life. When you go back home, find a church immediately.” Allen was so blessed to have found Pastor Lane Lovvorn the next day! Pastor Lane was to be Allen’s first true spiritual mentor and best friend. Allen was part of the Youth Ministry under Pastor Lane. Due to the spiritual influence of the various members of the God squad, Allen took classes at one of the satellite campuses of Oral Roberts University and received his degree in Religious Studies. Allen had been blessed with his best spiritual friends and three additional “brothers”, Carl, Scott, and Norman during this time. As Pastor Lane was ascending to be with our Lord, he passed the divine baton to Pastor Larry to be Allen’s final spiritual mentor and best friend. Because of Pastor Larry’s beneficent church, Allen daily said he had been so magnificently blessed and so excellently cared for by so many loving members. They were true examples of what our Lord would want them to be with Allen for the remaining time he was to live on this side of our Lord’s spiritual realm – starting with the Pastor Larry and his sons, Matt and Brandon, the one precious lady who always gave Allen special hugs from the Lord, the one with whom Allen talked to without filter about their diseases, and the ones who reached out to him throughout the week. May our Lord return the blessings you gave Allen abundantly to you and yours. Allen, you now know how our Lord is so pleased on how you had fought the good fight, you finished the race, you kept the faith! Even though there is a profound ache in our hearts with your sudden celestial ascendance, we are so much more faithful in our walk with the Lord because of your strong and stellar example of how you held on tightly to our Lord and your faith, no matter how laborious it was that you were going through. Allen, by your never ending faithful walk, we saw He gave you His peace, which surpasses all understanding, and He guarded your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus. We love you, Baba!
