Allison K. Doan's Obituary
Allison Ridgeway Doan born December 17, 1965, from Dallas, TX ~ passed into the loving hands of our Heavenly Father on August 4, 2017, at age 51. Her valor, smile, and strength were ever present, amid terminable odds with a rare form of lung cancer, fighting vigorously for 32 months. She was a miracle as Mother and Wife; living on to endeavor finishing a book called Bruised and Beautiful, recounting her memoirs through countless tales that never seem to fit her precious soul. She left so many with impressions, ultimately inspirations, which are forever befitting her sweet nature, giving God the glory; never embittered throughout. She graduated from Southern Methodist University and had a love of music and travel. She was a passionate colleague of Data Center Systems where the “Allistrong” movement took flight and impacted thousands around the USA and Canada. Our Allison leaves all of us; including thousands of friends, tens of colleagues, as well as comrades she ministered with, to the perfect knowledge that hope, strength, faith, and love are our best security to our future – outside these earthly bodies. Allison is survived and is loved by her husband, Keith Doan, who stood by her so faithfully, daughter Megan Raymond and son Grant Raymond as well as stepsons Daniel Doan and Peter Doan. Also devastated and surviving the incomparable Allison: her father Second Lieutenant Lawson Ridgeway, United States Army Air Forces and two older sisters, Jan Ridgeway Rodgers and Paula Ridgeway, as well as nieces, great nieces, a great nephew and many cousins. Preceded into the Kingdom of God by her beloved and loving mother Frances Jo Ridgeway (2006), beloved brother in law Wayne Rodgers (2013), two aunts and an uncle. Family and friends are eternally grateful for the love, care and support Allison received since January 2015 at M.D. Anderson (Houston), UTSW Dallas and hospice medical staff from the metroplex. Allison and family wish to offer donations – in lieu/or in part – to support the ‘LUNGevity’ Foundation which she ardently sought to support. www.lungevity.org Visitation at Restland Wednesday, August 9, 2017, from 5-8 pm and memorial service shall be held at First Baptist Dallas Sanctuary at 1707 San Jacinto Street, Dallas, Texas 75201 on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at 2 pm. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
